THe USKFI held its 9^th Shotokan Cup at the IT Blanchardstown recently, The standard of competition was extremely high with some exciting kumite matches and strong kata performances. Eleanore Coates from Corduff won Best Overall Performer for her excellent performances throughout the day, culminating in her winning the Senior Ladies' Individual Kata, Senior Ladies' Individual Kumite and also the Team Kata event in a series of exciting finals. Ruth O'Hara from Lucan also had a very successful day, made all the more impressive as it was the first time she competed in the Girls' 12-15 Years Kumite event. She also received a Best Overall Performer award for winning this event, as well as the Under 16 Individual Kata event.

THe USKFI would like to thank all the officials, staff at the IT, volunteers, medics, parents and competitors for their fantastic support in making the day run so smoothly.
