Instructors' Course

Instructors Course 0409.JPG

Attendees at the first USKFI Instructors' Course are taken through the Instructor's Training Manual by Senseis Michael Sherlock and David Royle

The USKFI held its first ever Instructors' Course last weekend. The course was run by Senseis Michael Sherlock and David Royle, both of whom are qualified Instructor Assessors. Fifteen instructors and assistant instructors were firstly taken through an Instructors' Manual, compiled by Sensei Royle. They were then split into two groups and asked to instruct the rest of of their group in any aspect of karate they wished. Senseis Sherlock and Royle assessed each instructor before giving written feedback together with constructive advice. Those who attended found the course extremely useful and the manual can be kept by each instructor and used as a reference tool. The USKFI requires all its instructors to keep up to date with current good practice in karate and these courses go a long way to help instructors maintain their standards. Another course will be run later on in the year.
